The Beautification Committee of the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce would like to help make Grayson a prettier place to live and visit. The Committee is sponsoring an "Adopt-a-Spot" program -- open to the whole community -- to make this goal a reality. We would like interested individuals, businesses, schools, churches, and civic groups to either "adopt" their own spot or to make them available to others who would like to participate in this award-winning program.
Get involved!
The Bud-N-Bloom Garden Club will be judging the entries in this program on a quarterly basis. Gardeners of all skill levels and gardens of all shapes and sizes (window boxes, barrels, sidewalk borders, flowerbeds, etc.) can be entered in the competition and all entries -- win, place or show -- are sure to be appreciated by all who see them.

You'll notice that the entry slip provides for many different sorts of landscapes and gardens to be included in the Adopt-a-Spot program. First, the spots are broken down into category determined by who tends to the garden -- Businesses, Schools, Church/Civic Groups or a homeowner at a private Residence. Next, since many people employ landscapers to keep things trimmed and blooming for them, the entries are divided into Amateur and Professional categories.
Think about it like this: If you maintain your garden -- fight bugs, drought, too much rain, weeds, blights and other troubles -- without the assistance of a professional service then your garden would qualify for the amateur division.
