Grayson Memory Days Last week before Memorial Day Downtown Grayson Come to Grayson to remember and be remembered as the city holds its annual celebration. Events include a Golf Tournament, Parade, Walking & Racking Horse Show, Art Show, Street Music and window displays. Carter County Art Club Anna Robinson Memorial Art Show Saturday before Memorial Day This judged event features area and well known artists. Amateur and professional categories. Someday Outdoor Drama June through July Grayson Lake Campground A musical cast against the dramatic backdrop of the Civil War. Carter County Shrine Club Horse Show Third Weekend in June Shrine Club Park US 60 East of Olive Hill Experience the excitement as the horses and exhibitors from as many as five states vie for the coveted blue ribbon. Bobcat Alley Bluegrass Festival June 2005 Old Time Machinery and Antique Association Grounds KY Rt. 7 South of Grayson "Rudyfest" returns with more great entertainers as the best of bluegrass rings through the hills of Carter County. Carter County Bluegrass Festival Last full weekend in July Olive Hill Showgrounds Olive Hill, KY This festival showcases premiere bluegrass acts and has been featured on Kentucky Educational Television. The Carter County Fair The second week of August August 2005 Grayson Jaycee Fairgrounds US 60 East of Grayson Come join the fun and excitement of this precursor to the Kentucky State Fair. The weeklong event features livestock events, horticultural events and judging, the Miss Carter County Fair Pageant, live music, motorized events, bull riding, a carnival and more! The Carter County Summer Bash First Saturday after Labor Day September 10, 2005 Anglin Pond -- North of Grayson The event of the season! Tickets to this day long raffle at $100 each and entitle the bearer to a chance on a drawing every 5 minutes for seven hours. You might win cars, trucks or $100,000 in cash! Kentucky Walking and Racking Horse Classic Second weekend in September Shrine Club Park US 60 East of Olive Hill Kentucky is horse country and there is no better place to see Walking and Racking horses than at this long running show. Second weekend in September September 9, 10, 11, 2005 Old Time Machinery and Antique Association Grounds KY Rt. 7 South of Grayson If you are interested in large or small machinery, tools, and other implements of the past, come see them in their restored and preserved states. Demonstrations of the mills, tractors and other older equipment are conducted daily. Hand crafted items are also on sale.
